Student Services

School Counselors are certified educators who support every student’s academic, career, and social-emotional development. Through data-informed, research-based, comprehensive counseling programs, they help students build the skills and resilience needed to succeed from kindergarten through graduation and beyond.

School counselors provide direct services through classroom instruction, individual planning, and individual or group counseling to promote academic success, emotional well-being, goal setting, and future readiness. They collaborate with families, educators, administrators, and community partners to remove barriers, promote equity and access, and create inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Elementary School Counselors
Elementary school counselors focus on building a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success. At the elementary level, school counselors support students by helping them:

• Develop social skills, emotional awareness, and problem-solving abilities
• Build positive attitudes toward school and learning
• Learn age-appropriate strategies for managing emotions, relationships, and challenges
• Strengthen early academic habits, confidence, and self-awareness

Elementary school counselors use a proactive, preventive approach and provide developmentally appropriate support during the critical early years. They partner with families and educators to identify concerns early and support student growth and well-being.

School Social Workers are part of the Student Services team. They help to positively impact the development of the whole child through collaboration with students, school personnel, parents, and community representatives so that students can learn and function well in school.

School Psychologists support academic achievement, social-emotional development, and mental health by conducting evaluations for learning and behavioral needs, delivering counseling and targeted interventions, and collaborating with educators, families, and community providers.
